The offset anime adaptation of Anpanman, consisting of a single episode, aired during Spring Pause Children's Hiroba - Picture show Book on NHK General TV on March xiii, 1979. There are currently a total of 32 full-length films based on the Soreike! Anpanman anime series. The films are also produced by TMS Entertainment and have been released in Japanese theaters every year since 1989. In 2011, research by Bandai found Anpanman to be the most popular fictional graphic symbol among people anile 0 to 12 in Japan for 10 sequent years.[22] Some of the films have been dubbed into English and are bachelor on the American streaming service Tubi.[23] The anime series also received an English dub in India (along with other regional languages) which was aired on Pogo Tv set in 2009.[24]

Retail sales [edit]

By 2006, the Anpanman books had sold over 50million copies in Japan.[25] Past the time Takashi Yanase passed away in 2013, the Anpanman picture books had sold 68million copies.[26] Every bit of February 2019, Anpanman has sold more eightymillion books.[27] As of March 2021[update], Bandai Namco has sold 2.39 million Anpanman PC units since 1999, including tablet computers.[28]

Retail sales of Anpanman related products grossed an annual revenue of at least ¥150 billion consecutively for nearly 30 years.[29] Anpanman overtook Hello Kitty equally Japan's pinnacle-grossing character in 2002,[5] and has remained Japan'southward summit-grossing character equally of 2019[update].[6] [seven]

Legacy [edit]

There are 5 museums across Nihon that are dedicated to Anpanman, such as the Yokohama Anpanman Children's Museum & Mall. There is also the Yanase Takashi Memorial Hall, a museum dedicated to Takashi Yanase himself.

Anpanman railroad train livery is featured on some of JR Shikoku trains, such as the JR Shikoku 2000 series DMU and the JR Shikoku 8000 series EMU.

The Anpanman Official Store Taipei, the first overseas Anpanman shop specializing in products related to the serial, opened at the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi shopping mall in Taipei on September 10, 2015.[55]

Anpanman inspired the manga and anime series One-Punch Man ( ワンパンマン , Wanpanman ).[56] It is a webcomic/manga series created by One, with the championship a play on the titular graphic symbol.

The Yard-popular group BTS released a song in their hit album Love Yourself: Tear under the proper noun "Anpanman" with many references to the series.[57]
