Club TKD Newbury Park in the largest Martial Arts School in the Thousand Oaks area. Our Taekwondo Program has been proven to help children become more successful physically, socially, and academically. We take very seriously our commitment to enhance the quality of life for our students and their families.

Our Transported After School Martial Arts Program is the only one of its kind in Newbury Park. While we provide transportation (from all Newbury Park Elementary and Middle Schools - Kindergarten through 8th Grade), Snack Time, Supervised Reading and Study Time, and Free Play Time, our Transported After School Program also includes Premier Martial Arts Training. Your child will receive the added benefit of our Taekwondo and Hapkido Training which focuses on Character Development while at the same time teaching your child Self Defense Skills and getting him/her in great physical condition. He/she will have so much fun, and at the same time learn discipline, respect, focus, and perseverance! You will not find another program like this in the Conejo Valley! We realize the need for this type of care in Newbury Park and are very pleased to be able to offer such a program to this community's youth.

We have often heard from the parents who work full-time that they are unable to sign up for our Martial Arts Program, as they simply do not have the time to get their children to our school after their work day to take advantage of what our program has to offer.

Club TKD has a solution for those parents! As we have recently moved our Martial Arts School into a 9,000 square foot Training Facility in Newbury Park, we now have the space to accommodate the After School Care we have envisioned for the past eight years. Your child can now get homework help, be physically active and socially stimulated, learn Self Defense Skills, get the Character Development Education that can help him/her to succeed in life, and have a great time doing it all. And all of this happens here at Club TKD Martial Arts, so you can simply enjoy spending time with your child in the evening when you all get home.

A Typical Day at Club TKD Transported After School Martial Arts Program

Your child will be transported from his/her school by an Adult Black Belt Instructor in our Club TKD van to our 9000 square foot State of the Art Martial Arts Training Facility in Newbury Park. He/she will have time to relax, unwind from the day, and have a snack in our After School Snack Room. She/he will then either proceed to her/his Supervised Study and Reading Time in our Study Room, or his/her Taekwondo Class. The order of these activities depends on your child's Belt Rank and our Class Schedule on any given day. The schedule rotates, so he/she will not do these activities in the same order each day, but he/she will accomplish both activities each day she/he is in our care. Following this, he/she will be provided with Free Play Time. Pick up time is 6:00pm, unless you have opted in and paid for an extension to 6:30pm (extension must be prearranged).

Snack Time includes supervised time to unwind from the day, visit with other students and have a nutritional snack in our fully equipped Snack Room.

Time to Re-Focus

After Snack Time, students will change into their Club TKD dobok (uniform that is kept here in the designated After School Care Storage Room). They will either get their equipment (also kept here in the studio) and attend TKD Class or proceed to the Study Room. Their school backpack and TKD gear will remain in the locked After School Storage Room when they are not using them.

Supervised Study and Reading Time includes 1 hour of supervised homework time in our quiet After School Study Room. Computers and Internet are available in this room for educational purposes.

Taekwondo/Hapkido Program

All Students in the Transported After School Martial Arts Program will attend Martial Arts Classes on a daily basis. Classes are 45 minutes in length and include Self Defense Training through the Study of Taekwondo, Hapkido, Judo, and Tumbling. Your child will be on their way to earning a Black Belt in Taekwondo with the World Taekwondo Federation the moment he/she begins classes! Full Membership (Monday - Friday classes) is included in Tuition (the value for this program alone is $157 per month). Students will wear their Club TKD dobok (uniform) each day.

The study of Taekwondo can get your child in great physical shape and teach the needed skills to enable students to defend themselves. But it also offers much more. We at Club TKD Martial Arts can help the student who needs to improve focus and self-control; we can also help the student who needs to learn assertiveness and confidence; as well as helping the student who could benefit from learning compassion and respect. All students can learn leadership and how to make smart choices.

Club TKD Martial Arts provides the most exciting and innovative Martial Arts Program you and your child will experience in the Thousand Oaks area. Although we honor Martial Arts Traditions that go back centuries, we are dynamic in that we have created new and innovative ways to enthuse and excite our students.

Free Play Time includes but is not limited to dodge ball, indoor soccer, frisbee games, wiffle ball, jump rope, tumbling practice, ping pong, board games, Chess Club, Book Club, Community Service Club, Writing Activities, and Computer Time for Enhanced Math and Reading skills. There are four training floors in our facility of which two are used for structured classes, leaving two available for After School Free Time activities. Quiet activities can be experienced in either of our other two After School Study Rooms (leaving a total a four designated After School Program areas). Movies and Wii games can be occasionally enjoyed on our Projection System in Snack Room or Apple TV System in Lobby.

CVUSD In-Service Days

Full Service days are included in the Club TKD After School Martial Arts Program and will generally include many more supervised games and activities as well as Arts and Crafts and a Field Trip. Lunch will be brought from home on these days. Club TKD will be open at 8:00am (transportation must be provided by parents on these no school days). Pick up time will be on the normal schedule of 6:00pm or 6:30pm depending upon your tuition arrangement. Please see Registration Information for details.

CVUSD/National Holidays

National Holidays are not included in the Club TKD After School Martial Arts Program. Club TKD is closed on all major National Holidays (new calendar will be available in August). Please see Registration Information for details.
